About
Professor Jacobson’s primary field of research is tribology, with focus on the micro-mechanisms of friction and wear of materials. Projects involve microstructured diamond surfaces with extreme tribological properties, materials for rock drilling, and materials and thin coatings for extreme tribological applications. A major part of his research has been on the formulation of models. He has co-authored an extensively used textbook on Tribology with Sture Hogmark.
