About
Professor Helmersson’s research covers both fundamental studies and industrial applications of thin film physics, e.g. low temperature growth of hard oxides, new hard materials, new ionised sputtering techniques, and medical applications of functional coatings.
He has been active in the field for about twentyfive years and is currently a Swedish representative at The European Joint Committee on Plasma and Ion Surface Engineering. He has published about 150 papers in the field.
